Seventeen

The three of us headed off to Costco this afternoon to pick up a few things and the pictures I requested to be printed for Ava's photo album. Ava was in a pretty good mood, so we decided to have lunch at the cafe which is located in Costco. Ava enjoyed the chicken fingers and potatoes!

After Costco, we headed home where I managed to get to work on putting the photos in the album before Ava became too demanding of my attention. While I was sorting through the pictures, particularly the really tiny baby pictures of Ava, I began thinking about this coming year and that it is a very special one for the Savard family. By June, our family will include seventeen people!! It's pretty amazing and a huge blessing to be surrounded by all of these wonderul people - younger and slightly older. ;> It's exciting to be an auntie, but to be one twice in one year is extra thrilling! I look forward to all the cousins playing together, having sleepovers and camping trips and birthday parties. It's an experience I hope Ava cherishes, because I didn't have the opportunity to grow up with cousins, never mind cousins around the same age! How lucky they are!!

Tomorrow, the plan is to go and see my grandmother. She is currently in a nursing home and is not doing well. She is suffering from dementia, as well as lung cancer. I really do not know how long she is going to be with us and while relationships have been strained, she should really meet her great-grand-daughter at least once. I'm pretty sure Ava will never meet her Memere so she should at least meet her Babci. I know it will be difficult to go and see her because she will be so different and changed from the last time I saw her. Hopefully it will be a pleasant visit.

It's crazy to think we'll be seventeen at this time next year! I, too, find it so much fun for the little ones to all be so close in age...

Makes me feel bad for Alix and Sammy who were the lead group...

I hope your visit with Babci goes well today... If we don't catch up for swimming, we'll try for next week (I won't let Jacques in on the possibility, just in case!)

Hope your visit with Babci went well. I'm sure she will be glad to meet Ava even in her current state. We think of her often and wish we could go and see her.
