Belle poisson!

Today was my turn to get up early with Ava. Marc offered to get up with her again, but I felt guilty about him getting up two days in a row so I managed to roll out of bed. After I fed her, we went downstairs and played for a bit before eating cereal. By the time Marc came down (around 9:30), she was starting to show the need for a nap. Just after 10:30, I took her up and settled her down and I crawled back into bed for a little snooze, too! Unfortunately, she only slept for about an hour.

After the quick nap and lunch for Marc and I, we got Ava ready to go for a swim. Marc has not been with Ava at the pool before, so I was looking forward to showing him how great she is in the water. Before too long, she was splashing around the pool and kicking her feet. Marc would put her on her tummy and she would "swim" over to me just like a beautiful little fish! She was even dipping her face into the water (much to my nervousness!) Marc told me not to panic but it seemed so unnatural for her to be face first in the water! Of course she was just fine! I wish I had brought my camera to get a picture of her gliding through the water!

Once we got home, Marc played with Ava on the floor and then settled her down for a quick nap which was a little too quick! She only slept for about 35 minutes. When she woke up, she was in a bit of a foul mood so we gave her some cuddles and then decided we would have an early supper. Ava chowed down her cereal, but wasn't too keen on the butternut squash. After a bath and a little more playtime I got her ready for bed around 1830. Once in her crib, she only cried for about 5 minutes and then was out like a light! I'm glad that the crying jag is getting shorter every night. Even 5 minutes seems like an eternity to a mom!

Tomorrow we are heading off to meet Ava's potential daycare lady. I hope everything works out, as she is so close to home!! Tomorrow night is also the annual Festival of Lights Parade and depending on how cold it is and her mood, we may head off to catch a little bit of it.

Sounds like you had some swimming fun.

We'll be heading out to the parade as well - but we'll be getting out of the cold, taking advantage of Papa's warm office for a super good view... Kevin says you are welcome to join us if you'd like!

I know what you mean about worrying when they put their face in the water. Matthew was doing that too! I guess babies are all the same!
