Under the Weather

Although with the weather we've been having lately, it's pretty easy to feel 'under' it...

This morning I woke up when I heard Ava squeaking in her crib and immediately I knew I felt horrible. My head ached even though I took some acetaminophen before bed last night and my stomach was doing somersaults. Uh oh, I thought, this is not a good omen.

After I fed Ava I took her downstairs where she played happily in her excersaucer while I crashed on the couch next to her. I dozed while she babbled away playing and watching some Treehouse TV. At one point I remember waking right up because she was so quiet I was afraid that she had managed to get out of her saucer and snuck away! I looked over at her and she was leaning right back in the saucer seat and was just watching some TV. Now, I'm not a huge fan of TV but Ava does like the music from the theme songs and some of the songs that the shows feature. Other than that, she doesn't really pay any attention to the TV.

Soon it was quarter after seven and I hadn't heard Marc getting up yet so I decided to go and wake him up as he had a course all day today starting at 8:30. I trudged up the stairs, still feeling pretty miserable. I was going to drive Marc to his session this morning and pick him up in the afternoon but it was so cold that we decided not to take Ava out so Marc was going to drive himself. This suited me fine because I didn't think I could make it without being ill this morning! I even took a gravol to help with the queasiness.

After Marc left for the day, Ava and I went back downstairs to play and I was having a hard time staying vertical. I was hoping for an early nap! Somehow, Ava heard my pleas and began rubbing her eyes at 8:30! She fell asleep for an hour long nap at 8:45 much to my joy. The rest of the day she did not seem like herself. I think she may be teething again because she was quite irritable. After some Tylenol she was in a better mood, so there probably was some pain somewhere.

After she ate her dinner, she still wanted to play! I tried getting her ready for bed just after 1900, but she was having no part in that! I gave up and came back downstairs with her until just after eight. I then decided that this was late enough and the party was over. Ava seemed to agree as she zonked out quickly in her crib. Unfortunately she did wake up crying half an hour later. Hopefully she will have a restful rest of the night.

Must be something going around. I'm sick too but not to your extent thankfully. Hopefully, we will both feel better soon!
