This morning Ava slept in until about 6:40. I was pretty happy as she has been getting up just after 6 in recent mornings. After she was fed it was just after seven, and Marc offered to get up with her again. I think he secretly enjoys spending that extra little bit of quality time with Ava even though it is a little early sometimes. She is often in her best mood first thing in the morning and will play fairly independently for quite a while.
Marc woke me as it was almost time for Ava's next feeding and nap time. After I put her down, she slept for almost two hours! This is quite unusual for our little go-getter and this makes two days in a row that she has had decent morning naps. Unfortunately, her afternoon naps have been suffering the past two days so bedtimes are a little wrangy.
After eating her supper this evening we tried to bring her back downstairs to play for a while before bed. She was quite uncooperative and very whiny! Marc gave up trying to entice her with her plethora of toys and brought her to the couch where she continued being grumpy. At one point, she was very quiet and as I looked over to see what had occupied her attention, this is what I saw:

As most babies around this age, Ava loves to tug on hair! She will even pull on her own, depending on her mood! Of course, Papa putting Ava up on his shoulders gave her the freedom to yank away!
After the photo taking was done, we decided to throw Ava in the tub for a bit of a change of scenery. She loves playing in the bath tub and regardless of how miserable she is, she will always be happy in the tub. It wasn't a real scrub day, so it was doubly nice to take advantage of her playing and not having to worry about soaping her up too much. After the bath, it was time to get ready for bed. Tonight was her first night in her new crib! Marc spent about an hour and a half taking apart Jacques' crib and putting the new crib together again. After twenty minutes of fussing (aka crying a lot) I managed to settle her back down and she fell asleep without a hitch. It is very funny how she will only fall asleep on her own terms!
Marc and I were also talking today about how it's very interesting how a baby, even as young or younger than Ava, will get so used to routine and clings to that schedule! Thankfully she is quite easy-going!

Too cute, that picture of Ava on her Papa's shoulders. Hopefully, she slept well in her new bed last night!
