Ava partied last night and was up at 6:00. After a "relatively" full day (seeing two of her aunts, cousin Jacques, Grandmaman and Grandpapa), she was rubbing her eyes and seemed very ready to go home. I thought, great! Now she'll go to bed at her normal time and sleep a decent amount tonight. I was wrong again!
After a quick bath and getting dressed for bed, Ava had her last feed for the night and fell asleep on my shoulder. As I put her down in bed she proceeded to cry like the dickens. I thought she would settle eventually and I covered her up, and left. Well, after two returns to the bedroom and her crying just not subsiding at all, I decided we needed to pull out the big guns. I noticed she was pretty gassy, along with the reddened cheeks which seemed to be indicating further teething action. I had already given her some Tylenol so I pulled out the gripe water and the Baby Motrin. After dosing her up, and cuddling her against my shoulder, she promptly fell asleep. I think it really was an upset tummy more than the teeth, but the tummy could be caused by the teething...a real chicken-or-the-egg situation.
Anyway, she is now asleep and I hope those teeth pop sooner rather than later so that our easy-going little girl returns to us! :> As an aside, it is so nice that Papa can be with us pretty much everyday from now until after the New Year. What a sweet treat!
