We celebrated Sam's 10th birthday today with most of the Savard family and my Dad (who is feeling better, and out of the hospital). It was a very fun time, and it was nice to have most of the family over (but we missed Joelle and Mikka because they had just gotten home today from the hospital). Jacques and Kevin were here though, to represent the Morgans and all was well!
Sam received all cooking themed gifts this year, which is a good thing because he really enjoys cooking! After all the food was eaten and the presents opened, the boys watched the Superbowl (Yeah Pittsburgh!) and Sam played golf with Grandmaman. After their game was over and Ava was in bed, we came downstairs to watch the end of the game and Grandmaman and I yakked about this and that. After the game, GM and GP headed for home and all was quiet at our house with just the five of us again.
Marc and I are were given a huge honour this past weekend also, as Joelle and Kevin asked us to be Mikka's Godparents. We are thrilled and very humbled by this request. Our nephews are extremely special to us (as is our niece) and this honour and important job makes it that much more so. We are looking forward to Mikka's baptism to help him start his spiritual journey.
On the Ava front - she's feeling much better, but still has the occasional loose poop. It is irritating her skin more than anything right now. I hope it passes quickly and lets her bum clear up for good!
Ava also had a very fun time playing with her cousins, Jacques and Calla at the birthday party today, and with her grandparents and tante Lisette. She was in a really good mood after a very decent afternoon nap which was very nice for me as she went from arm to arm without any complaint.
Tomorrow the boys go to school and then back to their mom's. The house will feel empty once they leave! I hope Sam enjoyed his birthday weekend with us this year, and I'm looking forward to his 11th birthday already!
