It was a monumental day in Ava's life today...she got her first haircut! Tante Joelle, Jacques and I went to get our hair done (colours, hi-lites and a cut respectively) and I asked Julie (our hair stylist) what she thought about trimming Ava's hair. It has been growing into her eyes and with the super dry air causing such static, her hair is constantly sticking on her face! Julie said she wouldn't mind a bit giving it a trim, and so it was settled. Jacques was pretty excited about Ava getting her haircut too, and he wanted her to go before him!
When it was Ava's turn (she went second last) she did very well even though tante Joelle had to hold her head a bit to let Julie actually snip a few hairs! After we were all done, we jumped back into the car and headed home where Ava fell asleep for a second nap on the way home. Once back at home, she ate a snack and when Papa woke up, they played together for a little while until one of Marc's co-worker came by to pick up one of the swings she had loaned us for Ava.
Tomorrow is another Papa-free day as he will be sleeping most of the morning to get ready for his second night shift tomorrow night. It is very hard to get back into the routine of not having a second set of hands around, someone else to interact and play with Ava and help take care of her needs. Of course, I loved the adult company too! Hopefully Marc's days off will go by very slowly!!!
