On June 25th, ecole Lacerte (Alix and Sam's school) held its graduation dinner/dance for the grade eight class. The school goes from pre-school to grade eight, so Alix was definitely top of the heap! The graduation was held at St. Martyr Church parents were invited to stay for dinner and speeches and then only the brave souls chaperoning stayed for the dance.
Alix looked very spiffy, and although he said he was nervous and had butterflies in his stomach, it was pretty obvious he was proud that his graduation day had finally come. There aren't that many kids in the graduating class, but each student received a personal toast from a teacher, so it ended up being over two hours. We enjoyed celebrating with Alix, and look forward to starting a new chapter in his academic career with him - high school!
Ava stayed with tante Joelle and oncle Kevin while we were away at the grad with Grandmaman and Grandpapa. When we left, all three kids were crying! I felt bad for Joelle and Kevin, especially since oncle Marc was responsible for making Jacques cry! (Jacques needs to learn very quickly that oncle Marc is a huge kidder)! She had lots of fun eating supper at their house and when we arrived to pick her up, she was cuddling with tante Joelle, which was super cute! Thanks again, Joelle and Kevin!
