At the Zoo!

Marc had picked up a shift working on Sunday, so Ava and I were flying solo. I had asked one of my friends who has two little girls if they wanted to get together for a playdate and she suggested the zoo. I readily agreed, as it was supposed to be pleasant out, and we hadn't been to the zoo since Halloween when we were at "Boo at the Zoo".

I had to drop Alix and Sam off at their mom's house Sunday morning, and I also was not feeling too chipper which is why we missed mass. After a shower and a bit of breakfast, I was feeling better and got everything packed up for the outing. I had the boys dropped off by 10:15, but realized that I forgot Ava's stroller, so I headed back home to get it. This put us about 10 minutes late for ouyr 10:30 meeting time, but luckily Nicole and Colin were patiently waiting for us to get there.

The girls really enjoyed spending some time together, as well as looking at the animals who were quite active. Before I realized it, just over 2 hours had passed and Ava was getting pretty grumpy. We made our way to the parking lot and after goodbyes all around, parted ways. I had to keep Ava awake for the ride home, where she promptly went to bed once we arrived.

After the zoo, we headed out to the library to exchange our books for the week. Ava seemed to enjoy picking out some books, and I'm hoping this is a routine that she will look forward to every Sunday!
