Today, at 1635, Ava will officially be two years old! Happy birthday, my darling little girl! Mommy is so proud of you!
I took the day off work to celebrate Ava's birthday with her (even though she doesn't really know it's her birthday). We started off the day by getting a check-up at the dentist. I have been going to see Dr. Wiebe since I was a little kid (3 maybe?) and now he is Ava's dentist, too. She cried through the entire process, but Dr. Wiebe said her teeth looked great, and that she should be getting her very back molars any time now. After getting a new toothbrush and orca whale stuffed toy, we were on our way back home.
Once back at home, Ava wanted to watch some Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Ice Age, so I was busy trying to back some birthday cupcakes and brownies while switching DVDs! Once Marc got home just before noon, we headed out to have a celebratory lunch with our 2 year old, and to Toys 'R Us as I wanted to check out tricycles for Ava.
Unfortunately, Toys didn't really have any good quality tricycles that would let us steer as she rode, so we decided to wait until the fall. I might try some online garage sales as well, just to see what they have that she might be able to ride.
All in all, I hope Ava has enjoyed her birthday so far. I know that it is a day I will never forget!
