Ava's favourite past-time - clapping her hands! She almost always claps her hands after she completes a task like putting one of her plastic balls through the tunnel on her play table. I guess I clap my hands a lot!!
Due to being back at work, battling Ava's cold and a mild stomache flu of my own I some how forgot to blog! The past week has been busy! Last weekend was Mother's Day, and we enjoyed brunch at Grandmaman and Grandpapa's house with the gang other than Alix and Sammy (I thought their mom might want to spend some time with them...). Work last week was extremely busy for me and it felt like I was barely in the office! The good news about that was that Ava had no problems at all about being dropped off in the mornings. I'm glad she is used to being at Denise's and really likes playing with the other little kids there.
Alix and Sam were dropped off on Friday after Sam's swimming lessons and they stayed with us for the weekend. They sure ate a lot of ice cream! They had some ice cream everyday! Must be related to Grandpapa! We had a lot of fun with them, and Ava, as always, enjoyed spending time with her grand freres! The added bonus was that they came to Mikka's baptism on Sunday. They did a great job helping tante Lisette watch Ava, and then entertained Jacques before and after - especially at the party!
Mikka's baptism was a very beautiful event. Marc and I were honoured with the priviledge of being his Godparents, and we couldn't have been happier to comply. The ceremony took place at the St. Boniface Cathedral (the famous basilica that is on almost every postcard of Winnipeg!) What I appreciated about the Deacon's presentation was that it was just for Mikka - meaning there were no other children being baptised at the same time, and that everything was in both languages, French and English, which made it very easy for everyone to understand what exactly was happening. After the ceremony, we headed over to Kevin and Joelle's to enjoy a yummy supper together before taking a very tired Ava and two content boys home.
Today was my sleep-in day (my first since last Saturday!) and I enjoyed it to the fullest. We enjoyed a yummy brunch together and then took it easy the rest of the afternoon. Ava played with her toys, checked on the boys, and harrassed Earl as much as we would let her. For supper, we had chicken stir-fry and then went out for an ice cream dessert in honour of Marc's birthday which is tomorrow, but celebrated a bit early as the boys were heading back to their mom's after dessert. We had a good day, but I wish I had just one more day to enjoy with me family before heading back to work.
Marc's birthday is tomorrow, and we may either go out for supper or make a BBQ...it's up to him to decide what he'd like to do! I just hope the weather warms up for our birthday boy!
