Vacation?

I know I really shouldn't be complaining about having two weeks of paid vacation...but please allow me some time to vent! The weather has been horrendous, meaning that it has been very wet and rainy up until today. With all the moisture, Ava and I couldn't really venture out to play. Ava was also showing signs of being bored in the house for three whole days (as was I!) We don't really watch TV other than one or two kids shows that hold her interest for a short time (not that I want her watching a ton of TV, of course! Which is lucky, because she is like me in that regard.) and we read almost all of her books a million times over, played with her tea set and kitchen, trains, stacking cups...etc, etc, etc! No little cousins were home to have playdates with, and grandmaman and grandpapa were gone camping, too.

To be blunt, other than spending some quality time with Ava, we were BORED! I was envious of Marc that he was getting out of the house! :> Luckily for us, the rain stopped for today and we were able to get into the bike trailer and go for a ride to the park. We made a quick pit stop in at tante Joelle's and oncle Kevin's to check for mail (there was none, again!) and then headed over to the school playground so Ava could run around a bit. She was having a lot of fun checking things out and going down the slides. It was time to go home, however, when she started trying to eat pebbles.

After Marc got home, we ate a quick dinner and headed to Costco to pick things up for our camping trip. We are camping for nine nights, and I am very excited! Finally some family time together, just relaxing! I am very much looking forward to sitting around the bonfire with good friends and chatting and having fun. The bonfire is definitely tone of the highlights about camping!

Just as we got home, the sky opened up again, and it is still raining! The forecast is calling for seasonal temperatures and sunny skies for our entire camp out, so we are hoping and praying that that will be mostly true!
